Plated Wedding Reception Menu

A wedding reception with a plated dinner is a classic format. It allows for guests to speak at their table, it channels a feeling of hospitality and service, and it allows for speeches and other elements of the wedding dinner to occur while dinner is being served.

Planners and photographers love the structure and creativity that come with the tableware, centerpieces, linens, and other elements that create a beautiful plated dining experience.

Our Approach to Plated Wedding Receptions

As a full-service caterer, we love the elegance of the plated format. At 440 Elm, we have the space and the elegance of our 1913 architecture to create a phenomenal reception experience utilizing a plated meal.

Generally, a plated dinner would follow a post-ceremony cocktail hour. Following the cocktail hour, guests would be invited to dinner, where a salad course could greet people at their tables. The plate service would follow soon thereafter, with timing generally at 15 minutes, 22 minutes, or a synchronized/ ballet service.

We love combining elements to create duos and trios to create variety on each plate.
